There will be two types of people on earth during the Millennium:
There will be Mortal people, and there will be Immortal people.
Those who have accepted Christ as Savior in this life, and who were in the
First Resurrection, will be in their immortal, glorified, everlasting new
bodies.
They will "live and reign with Christ..."
Revelation 20:4-6, And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment
was given unto them: and [I saw] the souls of them that were beheaded for the
witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the
beast, neither his image, neither had received [his] mark upon their foreheads,
or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.
But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished.
This [is] the first resurrection.
Blessed and holy [is] he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the
second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and
shall reign with him a thousand years.
The thousand years will be a great time of peace, due largely to the fact
that Christ Himself will rule from the throne of David in Jerusalem. Not only
will the earth be graced with the personal presence of our Lord, but Satan will
be bound and in prison during that time. Thus, he is unable to create chaos
among the mortal people who live, work and play on earth for a thousand
wonderful years.
Revelation 20:1-3 And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of
the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand.
And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan,
and bound him a thousand years,
And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him,
that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be
fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season.
The prophet Isaiah prophesied it would be a time of peace.
Isaiah 2:4-5, And he shall judge among the nations, and shall rebuke many
people: and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into
pruninghooks: nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they
learn war any more.
O house of Jacob, come ye, and let us walk in the light of the LORD.
As has been stated, the saved will be in glorified immortal bodies.
However, there will be long life and happiness to mortals who are alive at that
time also.
Isaiah 65:17-19, For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth: and the
former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind.
But be ye glad and rejoice for ever [in that] which I create: for, behold, I
create Jerusalem a rejoicing, and her people a joy.
And I will rejoice in Jerusalem, and joy in my people: and the voice of weeping
shall be no more heard in her, nor the voice of crying.
Isaiah 65:20-25, There shall be no more thence an infant of days, nor an old man
that hath not filled his days: for the child shall die an hundred years old; but
the sinner [being] an hundred years old shall be accursed.
And they shall build houses, and inhabit [them]; and they shall plant vineyards,
and eat the fruit of them.
They shall not build, and another inhabit; they shall not plant, and another
eat: for as the days of a tree [are] the days of my people, and mine elect shall
long enjoy the work of their hands.
They shall not labor in vain, nor bring forth for trouble; for they [are] the
seed of the blessed of the LORD, and their offspring with them.
And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they
are yet speaking, I will hear.
The wolf and the lamb shall feed together, and the lion shall eat straw like the
bullock: and dust [shall be] the serpent's meat. They shall not hurt nor destroy
in all my holy mountain, saith the LORD.

We will worship God in Jerusalem. Apparently, the mortal people will go
up to Jerusalem (much as the Old Testament Israelites went up to the Temple)
each year in a special worship service.
Note the following Scripture references, from Zechariah:
Zechariah 2:10-13, Sing and rejoice, O daughter of Zion: for, lo, I come,
and I will dwell in the midst of thee, saith the LORD.
And many nations shall be joined to the LORD in that day, and shall be my
people: and I will dwell in the midst of thee, and thou shalt know that the
LORD of hosts hath sent me unto thee.
And the LORD shall inherit Judah his portion in the holy land, and shall choose
Jerusalem again.
Be silent, O all flesh, before the LORD: for he is raised up out of his holy
habitation.
Zechariah 3:9-10 For behold the stone that I have laid before Joshua; upon one
stone [shall be] seven eyes: behold, I will engrave the graving thereof, saith
the LORD of hosts, and I will remove the iniquity of that land in one day.
In that day, saith the LORD of hosts, shall ye call every man his neighbor
under the vine and under the fig tree.
Zechariah 8:20-23, Thus saith the LORD of hosts; [It shall] yet [come to pass],
that there shall come people, and the inhabitants of many cities:
And the inhabitants of one [city] shall go to another, saying, Let us go
speedily to pray before the LORD, and to seek the LORD of hosts: I will go also.
Yea, many people and strong nations shall come to seek the LORD of hosts in
Jerusalem, and to pray before the LORD.
Thus saith the LORD of hosts; In those days [it shall come to pass], that ten
men shall take hold out of all languages of the nations, even shall take hold of
the skirt of him that is a Jew, saying, We will go with you: for we have
heard [that] God [is] with you.
Zechariah 14:8-11, And it shall be in that day, [that] living waters shall go
out from Jerusalem; half of them toward the former sea, and half of them toward
the hinder sea: in summer and in winter shall it be.
And the LORD shall be king over all the earth: in that day shall there be
one LORD, and his name one.
All the land shall be turned as a plain from Geba to Rimmon south of Jerusalem:
and it shall be lifted up, and inhabited in her place, from Benjamin's gate unto
the place of the first gate, unto the corner gate, and [from] the tower of
Hananeel unto the king's winepresses.
And [men] shall dwell in it, and there shall be no more utter destruction;
but Jerusalem shall be safely inhabited.
It is interesting to note, that even though Satan is bound, mankind has an
inherent sin nature of his own. This is made evident in Zech 14:17-19, when
certain families and people refuse to go up to Jerusalem to worship the Lord.
Zechariah 14:17-19 And it shall be, [that] whoso will not come up of [all]
the families of the earth unto Jerusalem to worship the King, the LORD of hosts,
even upon them shall be no rain.
And if the family of Egypt go not up, and come not, that [have] no [rain]; there
shall be the plague, wherewith the LORD will smite the heathen that come not up
to keep the feast of tabernacles.
This shall be the punishment of Egypt, and the punishment of all nations that
come not up to keep the feast of tabernacles.
Near the end of the thousand years, Satan is "loosed for a little season."
(Mentioned in Rev 20:3 above, and in Rev 20:7-8)
He then goes out and decieves many mortal people who are in the earth.
Revelation 20:7-8 And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be
loosed out of his prison, And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in
the four quarters of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to
battle: the number of whom [is] as the sand of the sea.
Satan plays on the inherent sin nature of mankind, and (very much in the same
way he decieved Eve) he will decieve many who will follow him to try to make war
on the saints.
This is his final folly, for God destroys them and casts Satan into the
lake of fire.
Revelation 20:10 And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of
fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet [are], and shall be
tormented day and night for ever and ever.
Death and Hell is also cast into the lake of fire. Hell is the temporary place
of the Lost, which will eventually end up in the Lake of Fire.
Revelation 20:14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is
the second death.
Unfortunately, all those who have refused to accept Christ will NOT have their
names in the book of life, and will also be cast into the Lake of Fire.
Revelation 20:15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was
cast into the lake of fire.
Escape this sad fate by accepting Christ today.
